The United States government to stop funding the Ethiopian Goverment

The United States government to stop funding the Ethiopian Goverment
The Issue
We, members of the Oromo Community Center of Seattle and Oromo Communities’ Association of North America appeal to the United States President and the United States Government to break their ties with the Ethiopian Government and the prime minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed. For over a year, the government of Ethiopia has been carrying out undeclared war on the Oromo people in Wallaga, Guji, and Borana zones without appropriate legal justifications, has imprisoned over 9,000 people, and failed to protect students and civilians from violence.
We are Citizens of the United States with Oromo Heritage. Although we live here in peace, our relatives and friends face immediate danger to their lives. Woman, children, farmers, pastoralists, and students are dying daily because the Ethiopian government is either unable to contain the violence or is intentionally conducting undeclared war on some parts of Oromo Regional State. At a time when the country needs peace and stability as it moves closer to the national elections, scheduled to take place in August 2020, the government of prime minister Abiy Ahmed is misusing the foreign aid funds the USA is providing to Ethiopia and Ethiopia is using it for corrupt reasons such as amputating small children legs and arms, killing university students, burning down farms, putting people in jail, attacking random civilians for no reason, and buying weapons with the funds they are using the funds provided by our taxes to do anything but help the country and the civilians, there is no justice and no peace
